Resident Evil 2 If you can brave its shortcomings, Resident Evil 2 is good, scary fun. The original Resident Evil remains one of the PlayStation’s most successful games. It was so popular, in fact, that it inspired a slew of similar horror-themed action/adventure games for the system. And while many would cite Resident Evil as the originator of this formula, the fact is that the lot of these games took their blueprint from a PC game, Infogrames’ H.P. Lovecraft-inspired Alone in the Dark. Resident Evil 2 is no exception, following the familiar formula of suspense achieved through changing perspective and cinematic camera angles. Its PC lineage may explain why Resident Evil 2 makes a successful jump from the PlayStation, but only if you can accept some decidedly foreign design conventions inherent to console games.
Resident Evil 2 begins shortly after the first one ended. Raccoon City has been overrun by the zombies created by the unscrupulous Umbrella corporation. While the heroes of the first game are absent from the story-driven portion of Resident Evil 2, www.muhammadniaz.net you still have your choice of two characters. Actually, it isn’t much of a choice. To finish the game, you must play through each section as both characters.
Most of Resident Evil 2 takes place in the Raccoon City Police Station, where both Leon and Claire have taken refuge from the zombie infestation. Inside, you’ll solve a variety of puzzles, which mostly involve finding keys to unlock previously inaccessible areas. The puzzles are simple, and you’ll find yourself sliding blocks onto pressure plates and fitting medallions into their resting places. Likewise, the action, while graphic in content, is somewhat on the light side. You just point your character in the general vicinity of a zombie and fire your weapon.
Neither of these points is a criticism. Resident Evil 2 is an action/adventure that puts emphasis on neither. Instead, its strength is its atmosphere. The game is both creepy and, at times, frightening. The creature designs are good, as there are both gory scenes of zombies feasting on victims, and startling moments of creatures jumping out of nowhere.
The translation from the PlayStation is good. The character models are high resolution, though the backgrounds are a bit washed out. The movies, though well rendered, are somewhat grainy, but look better than those in other console ports like Final Fantasy VII. The PC version of Resident Evil 2 includes all the gameplay modes from both the US and Japanese versions of the PlayStation game, and there are enough extras to satisfy you if you still want more once the lengthy “original” mode draws to a close. The PC version also has an exclusive new feature, an art and model gallery that lets you see how the designs evolved. It’s not vital by any means, but it’s a nice touch.
The music is appropriately creepy, with sad piano music floating in and out of the game. The other sound effects don’t fare as well. The groaning of zombies is creepy at first, but over time it becomes tedious and repetitive. The voice-overs are terrible, www.muhammadniaz.net though they seem appropriate in the B-movie setting.
Resident Evil 2’s origin as a PlayStation game is apparent. The method by which you save games will infuriate PC purists, as it is not only sporadic, but requires an item of which there are a limited number. This is part of the game’s design, though, and it would lose much of its suspense without it. But if such conventions annoy you, consider yourself warned. If you can brave its shortcomings, however, Resident Evil 2 is good, scary fun.

Knights of the Temple Infernal Crusade is an action adventure video game released in 2004 by Starbreeze Studios. The game was released only in Europe. The soundtrack was by the Dutch metal band Within Temptation. Knights of the Temple Infernal Crusade This third person action adventure game will let players assume the role of a medieval knight. The player character Paul is a Templar knight on his first Crusade, to stop the end of the world by fighting his way through the sombre gloom of European monasteries and villages to the colourful bazaars and powerful bastions of the crusader castles under the blazing sun of the Holy Land and by entering the realms of hell and face his worst nightmares.
An evil Bishop has abducted Adelle, a mysterious young woman with divine powers. With his entourage of disciples and their captive Adelle he embarks on an Unholy Crusade, moving along the initial routes of the historic holy wars. By misusing Adelle’s powers against her he plans to complete the Unholy Circle and to perform dark rituals at sacred places to desecrate them. This way he intends to eventually unlock and gain access to the Gateway to Hell. Paul finds upon him the tough task of starting a mission to uncover the Evil Conspiracy, to interrupt the Unholy Circle and to prevent the Evil Bishop from fulfilling his plan. Only by saving Adelle can he save the world from Evil. In the final confrontation with evil, the powers of hell have been unleashed and the corrupt bishop has gained limitless powers. Paul fights him and his henchmen, resurrecting countless of evil minion where Paul struggles to fight. Eventually the bishop was defeated and thrown into hell, and Paul, although weak and wounded, saved the world from darkness.

Players take hold of various medieval weapons from axe, mace, sword, to mastering archery. Right from the first hack, relentless batches of enemies has to be dispatched with ever increasing degrees of stylish violence, doors to be unlocked, keys to be found and the occasional puzzle to be solved.
The first dozen or so levels take literally minutes to hack your way through, and quickly the tone is set for the rest of the game, with a regular addition of new weapons and new moves, as well as the occasional puzzle and boss to fight along the way.

Resident Evil 3 Nemesis is action oriented survival horror  PC Video game. In this game where the player controls the on screen character from a third person perspective to interact with the environment and enemies. Jill Valentine is the sole protagonist and main controllable character of the game, with another character also being controllable for a brief portion of the game. To advance through the game, the player is challenged to explore the fictional Raccoon City while avoiding, outsmarting and defeating various types of enemies. The player can open doors, push certain objects, climb obstacles, and pick up items. All items collected are stored in an inventory that the player can access at any time. Items in the inventory can be used, examined, and combined to make new ones. The inventory is limited to a certain number of slots, and the player must often move items from the inventory to a storage box located in special rooms to manage space.
In combat, the player has the ability to dodge attacks, use firearms against enemies, and shoot certain objects like explosive barrels, causing them to explode and damage nearby enemies. The player can also run and perform a quick 180 degree turn to evade enemies. The player has a certain amount of health which decreases when attacked by enemies. The lower the player’s health is, the slower the player’s movement speed is. Nevertheless, players can increase their health by collecting and using herbs, which can be mixed with other herbs to increase their healing effect. The game also incorporates an ammunition creation system that allows players to create new ammunition from different varieties of gunpowder. In addition to engaging in combat, the player must often solve puzzles that focus on logical and conceptual challenges.

Tomb Raider The Last Revelation is the fourth instalment in the Tomb Raider video game series. It was developed by Core Design and published by me Interactive. It was released on PC, PlayStation and eventually on the Sega Dreamcast with exclusive graphical and sound enhancements. The game was a commercial success, selling 5 million copies worldwide, and was the last Tomb Raider game released on “Greatest Hits”. The Last Revelation is far and away the best of the sequels, mainly because Core has finally added some coherence to all aspects of the game.
Who would have guessed when we met her that Lara Croft assertive, independent, self assured, and a phenomenal shot – would prove to be such a tease? Having virtually defined a new genre of third person action adventure in 1996, the Tomb Raider franchise lures us back each holiday season much like an old relationship trying to rekindle itself with promises that “it has grown” and that “things will be different and even better this time around.” However, with the last two games, developer Core and publisher Eidos have disappointed even some of Lara’s most devoted fans. The series refuses to evolve beyond the basic yet beguiling formula: leap around ancient tombs, shoot foes (animal, human, and superhuman), and unravel the elaborate puzzles and traps that guard these premodern mysteries. Lara does have some new moves in Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, but in the end, none of them takes her far enough in any new direction.
Nevertheless, The Last Revelation is far and away the best of the sequels, mainly because Core has finally added some coherence to all aspects of the game. There’s actually a story this time Lara mistakenly unleashes the Egyptian god Set after eons of imprisonment. Before the evil spirit wreaks destruction on the planet, Lara must put this gnarly genie back in the bottle. Frequent prerendered and in-game cutscenes punctuate the action, as Lara’s cliched German enemy Dr. Von Croy challenges her at every turn. At least we do see Lara having actual conversations, especially with her mentor Jean-Pierre, who adds to the plot by getting kidnapped later in the tale. And in the final leg, The Last Revelation takes a Hitchcockian turn, thrusting Lara into some of the world’s most familiar landmarks, the Sphinx and Great Pyramid.
Ultimately, Tomb Raider IV would have made a brilliant Tomb Raider II. The changes are great, but should have been made years ago. They are less impressive now that the basic play mechanics are so familiar. Fans who want one more spelunking adventure will be pleased that this is far and away the best of the sequels. Those of us who hoped our favorite gaming girlfriend would evolve into something better will be disappointed again, only less so this year than in the past. Core has breathed just enough new life into the old girl to make it worth one more go. But, we’re warning you, Lara: We’re not going to fall for this little game of yours again. All of us need to move on. This is it. Last time. We mean it this time. No kidding.

The Mummy is a platform game for the Windows and PlayStation game console, based mostly on the first film in the The Mummy series. The game was released on 2000 A.D by the Konami Corporation. Ardeth Bay addresses the playerdirectly, saying that they have released an ancient evil fear for three millennia. The player then takes over as Rick O’Connell, who issituated in the catacombs of Hamunaptra and begins making his way through the tunnels, killing off thieves and taking any artifacts he can find. O’Connell then operates the opening mechanisms for the tunnel doors, wherein he finds more artifacts and more thieves to be defeated, with a new menace coming in the form of scarabs, which are burned away with the torch that O’Connell must light. Going further into the catacombs, O’Connell states that he has a bad feeling and makes his way into a pit, at which point a dried, raspy inhuman voice shouts in ancient Egyptian and mummies erupt from the ground, which are more challenging to kill than the thieves. After dispatching the mummies and escaping the pit, O’Connell goes in further to find more undead minions, these dressed in blue and gold trimmings and prove harder to kill than the mummies, requiring three strikes of the sword. These are defeated, however, and O’Connell encounters more grave robbers before going further into the catacombs, finding a room filled with some treasure pieces which are taken, before moving on to reach another corridor filled with mummies. In time, O’Connell reaches a sarcophagus that is opened, revealing a sword that shines blue. O’Connell then leaves the chamber.

God of War 3 GOW III is a third person action adventure video game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE). First released for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) console on March 16, 2010, the game is the fifth installment in the God of War series, the seventh and final chronologically, and the sequel to God of War and God of War II. Loosely based on Greek mythology, the game is set in Ancient Greece with vengeance as its central motif. The player controls the protagonist, Kratos, the former God of War, after his betrayal by his father Zeus, the King of the Olympian Gods. Reigniting the Great War, Kratos ascends Mount Olympus with his initial allies, the Titans, until he is abandoned by Gaia. Now guided by the spirit of Athena to search for the Flame of Olympus, Kratos battles monsters, gods, and Titans in a search for Pandora, the key to pacifying the Flame surrounding Pandora’s Box, and to defeat Zeus. Successful, Kratos kills Zeus and ends the reign of the Olympian Gods.
Gameplay is similar to other games in the God of War series. It focuses on combo-based combat, achieved through the player’s main weapon the Blades of Exile and secondary weapons acquired later. It features quick time events that require the player to complete various game controller actions in a timed sequence to defeat stronger enemies and bosses. The player can use up to four magical attacks and a power-enhancing ability as alternative combat options. The game also features puzzles and platforming elements. In addition to its similar gameplay, it features a revamped magic system, an increase in the number of onscreen enemies, further interaction with the environment, new camera angles, and downloadable content.

Resident Evil 4 takes you on a secret mission at a mysterious location in Europe, where you will fight not zombies in an attempt to recover thePresident’s daughter. Resident Evil 4 is strong gameplay somehow manages to survive, despite a lazy porting job that will leave some PC owners wondering what all the fuss was about.
In 2005, Resident Evil 4 on the Nintendo GameCube was rightfully lauded as one of the best action adventure games ever released, thanks to stunning visuals and white-knuckle action sequences that ranked amongst the best in gaming. Later that year, PlayStation 2 owners were blessed with their own version of the game, featuring more missions and some other unlockable goodies. And now you can play Resident Evil 4 on your PC for a mere $20. It’s too bad that PC gamers have been inflicted with a lazy port that does as little as possible to cater to the platform. Forget mouse support, forget tailoring the visuals to your own preferences, and don’t even think about any PC only goodies: this is a direct transfer of the PlayStation 2 version. If you can get past all these problems, RE4 is still an intense, thrilling ride that will keep your heart pounding. But if you still haven’t played Resident Evil 4, this version should be your last resort.
The biggest oversight amongst all these porting issues is that of controls. Resident Evil 4 doesn’t support mouse controls, though it does offer a mildly clumsy keyboard-only scheme. Plenty of console-centric games play better with a gamepad, but there wasn’t even an attempt to implement decent PC controls here. To experience the game the way it’s meant to be played, you need to plug in a gamepad. Whichever method you choose, the controls present an issue during the famous context sensitive moments that require a few split-second button presses. If you end up using the keyboard controls, make sure to memorize which key is button 1, which key is button 2, and so on. The same issue exists with a controller, though it’s a bit easier to get the button presses right because the in-game diagrams are tailored toward gamepad users.

The fundamental combat is where the game shines most. Your arsenal consists of pistols, shotguns, rifles and more, with every weapon producing credible results. Popping pitchfork-wielding villagers will cause them to drop their weapons. Or you can shoot them in the knees to make them momentarily fall to the ground. Because ammunition is not terribly plentiful, being able to handle a crowd of shambling psychopaths with as few shots as possible is a main priority. You’ve always got a knife as a last resort, but unless you want to take a chunk of damage, it’s better to keep your distance.

BioShock 2 is a first person shooter video game. The game is set in the fictional underwater dystopia of Rapture. The game opens with a cutscene set in 1958 then jumps 10 years to when Delta wakes up in 1968, eight years after the events of the first BioShock. The protagonist and player-controlled character is an Alpha series of Big Daddy, a human being that has been mentally conditioned to protect Little Sisters which is amongst the first of its kind. The player-controlled character Big Daddy, named Subject Delta who was previously paired with a single Little Sister, reactivates with no recollection of the past decade’s events and scours the city in an attempt to relocate the Little Sister that he was paired with. Fearing this reunion will ruin her plans for the city, Sofia Lamb, the antagonist, sends out her spliced up followers that she calls “The Rapture Family” and new Big Sisters in an attempt to deter Delta.
BioShock 2 features a story-driven multiplayer mode in which the player takes on the role of a citizen of Rapture. Set in 1959, just before the events of BioShock, the player chooses to take on the role of a splicer fighting in Rapture’s civil war. The player is being sponsored by the plasmid manufacturer, Sinclair Solutions, to test out their weapons, plasmids, and Tonics in a consumer reward program. As the player progresses through the multiplayer experience, new weapons, tonics, and plasmids will be unlocked (provided by Sinclair) in addition to the story of the Rapture civil war being told.
